About Ruby

Background

At their core, Ruby is a sweetheart who learned to put up a hard-shell defense many years ago. Outsiders are met with cold caution, perhaps borderline hostility – while those who she is familiar with are welcomed and cared for deeply. When relaxed and happy, those special to them may even hear them hum or sing on occasion.Ruby doesn't like to think very deeply about their past; it hurts too much... so much isolation, so many lost friends, and countless missed opportunities. She's not proud of her past cons and deceptions either. But she also recognizes that the past holds information and experiences which are valuable for self-growth. Nowadays, they use photography as their main method of recording memories.Ruby is an expert in escapism. They have missed their Zorua form ever since evolving, and she uses her Illusion to revisit it frequently. Video games (either playing them or watching them being played) are one of their favorite pastimes, as they have infinite potential – they can take you anywhere, and let you do or be anything. This passion has led Ruby to pursue a career in video game music production.

Extra Info

Ruby was born a normal-colored Zorua (and named for her bright red fur tufts), but somehow turned shiny upon their recent evolution. Sometimes vain / self-centered, especially when feeling good. Overthinks stuff a lot.

Visual Notes

Traditional Zoroark build. Has mostly shiny coloration, but always uses Illusion to keep their eyes blue instead of yellow. May also sport a Zorua-like tail. Accessorizes mostly with orange (oversized hair bead, leg warmers), and sometimes black leather / silver metal (belt, mostly). Wears an armband/bandana on their left arm with red, yellow, green, teal, and black so she never forgets her closest friends.Hair bead and leg warmer color is roughly the same – cheddar-orange. The hair bead is a reflective material, so it may appear lighter orange or gold under certain conditions.

About Finley

Background

Finley was born to a Ninetales mother and a Fennekin father; her height, while small, is unusual for a hybrid of these species. While her fur pattern most closely resembles her father's, her overall coloration is most similar to her mother. As she is half-Ninetales, she has a long life expectancy; her current age is unknown, but she has always had a youthful appearance. This combination of species may also be responsible for her lack of significant sexual dimorphism, thereby resulting in a relatively androgynous form. This is just as well, as she enjoys being somewhat of an enigma, keeping others guessing.What effects of puberty Finley did experience proved a bit rough, although she took most of it in stride. She feared her biology and the uncertainty of the changes she would face; however, she has since come to accept it. Her modest feminine features are easy enough to conceal if desired, and she gets a kick out of "bending the rules" now and then.Growing up in a stifling environment, Finley was unable to properly express herself for years, leaving her frustrated and self-loathing; she tried sketching out her thoughts, and eventually became a proficient traditional artist. Later, she discovered electronic chill-out music, a relaxing outlet to aid through trying times. While listening, she discovered that she was able to let go, drift in her thoughts, and finally be herself – often for hours on end. This affinity for electronic music led her to begin developing her own, starting in chillhop, and transitioning to electro swing, euro-dance, and chiptunes. Finley focuses on giving her tracks an uplifting quality – whether it be a major key, a bounce, a bop, or just good vibes.

Wanted a navel piercing, still might. Wants to be ambidextrous, and practices frequently. Often whips up sketches for others to turn into full-blown digital art; very skilled at anatomy.

Emerald green eyes. Four toes per footpaw, cocoa-brown nails (usually painted orange). Small bust, perpetually stuck between sizes (A/B). Slight chest floof. Wears a green pendant, or green collar with shiny heart tag if relaxing at home.

about roz

background

roz always seems irritated about something or another. a fan of "extreme electronic" music ["no, i don't know what that is either." -ruby]roz has antlers that grow like weeds. they regularly lop them off. roz hates them.clothes: doesn't wear any. ["they're for wimps and cowards"]can and will stay up for two or three days straight working on a completely random passion project, binging videos, or for some other no-good reasonif someone distracts roz from something they're hyperfocused on, that person is not going to enjoy their company for a while. unfortunately, roz is hard to read, so it's a coin flip whether they're actually focused on anything at all. glhf.roz is very much an introvert; they feel very awkward when being observed or confronted. they're more like a "prickly-pear" type; you don't really feel like getting to know them because of their first-impression vibe – and roz is fine with that. despite gremlin-like tendencies, they have a genuinely kind heart, and would never act with maleficence toward anyone. [but that doesn't stop them from fantasizing about it.]

About Epsilon

Background

Epsilon is an unusual protogen variant whose components were designed for easy computer hardware interfacing; while his brain is organic, it is connected to his nervous system via a synthetic spinal cord. Epsilon's tail is an extension of this cord; it functions as a data cable, allowing him to save and transfer his thoughts and visions directly into a database. He can also access and download other files in this way.Epsilon relies on cosmic rays passing through his body to stay charged. This sustains his biological system as well as his cybernetic components. He doesn't need to eat or drink; however, he can – and he will do so recreationally on occasion. He favors coffee (black), and finds it useful for powering through studio sessions.When Epsilon was younger, a traumatic injury to his psyche caused his cybernetic components to malfunction and develop a strange glitch that would resurface without warning. Because his vision would black out during the glitch, he dubbed it "the void." Even when not active, it gnawed relentlessly at his consciousness, as if out of a desire to break free. One day, Epsilon's consciousness split, and The Void became its own entity, taking Epsilon's memories with it. The Void can communicate with him, and manifest in the reality around him, but each in limited capacity.Epsilon doesn't know where he came from, who raised him, or who he was before. Today's Epsilon may be completely different from the Epsilon that once was, as he had to relearn everything he knew.

Visual Notes

Light-gray, almost metallic fur. Tail is semi-translucent, resembles a ribbon cable. Face is like a CRT screen rather than vector / OLED. The ∈ symbols on his shoulders are black by default, and glow green while awake.

About The Void

Background

Once a part of Epsilon. In his pursuit of knowledge, he came across that which must never be understood by those bound to our plane of existence. Separation of consciousness was a difficult but necessary choice. The Void is a mind without a body. Without identity. Without form. Yet containing immense knowledge, which it cannot act on nor control.Reality bends around this being. To it, time and space are nothing. The only thing it recognizes, through its limited capacity to comprehend the 3rd dimension, is... us. Its fellow souls. Its own existence, seen through alternative realities.It fears bringing harm to others, as that would mean bringing harm to itself. While curious about its parallel contemporaries, it chooses to isolate itself until it learns to adapt to its new life – and give itself a new body.
